New DCS Millennium 700 Series Prints Full-Color Name Badges and Access Cards in 25 Seconds
Direct Color Systems (DCS) has introduced its Millennium 700 small format printer, which prints up to 30 percent faster than its predecessor. The Millennium 700 Series utilizes a proprietary digital imaging technology that ensures clear, sharp and professional-looking output. Its ability to automatically feed and print precut blanks in full color, at a printing speed of about 25 seconds per card, saves time and costs. Computer graphics, scanned images or original artwork created by a software package such as the DCS Color Byte software can all be used with this versatile printer.
The Millennium 700 Series accepts cards .020” to .060” (.5mm to 1.5mm) thick and is available in two models, the 720 and 770. The Model 720 prints on CR80 (2.125” x 3.375” [54mm x 85.7mm]) card stock only. It has dual hoppers, allowing two different card stocks to be used in the same printer. An optional encoder module enables encoding of both HICO and LOCO magnetic stripes while printing membership cards, company IDs and more.
The Millennium 770 model accommodates various sizes of card stock (as small as 1” x 3” [25.4mm x 76.2mm] and as large as 2.5” x 3.7” [63.5mm x 94mm]) with a single adjustment and no adapters required. It is ideal for easy, high-quality printing of name badges. The 770 has an optional black resin with overlay (KO) ribbon available to help protect black resin prints from alcohol based perfumes.
