Ricoh Goes Wide with Aficio MP W7140

Ricoh Corp. Press Release

Ricoh Europe (Netherlands) B.V. announces the launch of its Wide Format Aficio MP W7140. The black-and-white multifunctional is highly productive at a print speed of fourteen A1 and seven A0 pages per minute (ppm). It features a detachable color scanner, which enables the easy digital distribution of documents. Highly reliable and with a durability of 1,500 km, the device is intended not only for general office use, but also for Print-for-Pay (PFP) environments and Central Reprographic Departments (CRDs) at large manufacturers.

Gerard de Pender, Product Manager at Ricoh Europe, comments: “The Aficio MP W7140 is significantly more productive than its predecessors, and users will benefit from its flexible layout and outstanding usability. They also have a choice to opt for an embedded or a Ratio controller, depending on their specific needs. We are confident that the Aficio MP W7140 will firmly establish Ricoh’s presence in the mid- and high-range wide format production.”

The Aficio MP W7140 prints and copies at a high resolution of 600 dpi. Its warm-up time is less than two minutes, and its first output speed at A1 format is less than ten seconds. It handles paper formats between 182 x 210 mm and 914 x 30,000 mm. Two standard roll feeders and a one-sheet bypass tray can be enhanced with an extra two optional roll feeders and 2 x 250-sheet paper cassette for maximum input. High capacity is combined with space-saving design: the machine is compact and full-front operable. Flexible layout options include multiple, double and rear stackers. Cross folder and fan folder units are available.

The optionally detachable colour scanner allows users to scan to e-mail or to a plotter, and to edit and save scanned data. With Ricoh’s embedded controller, it becomes possible to scan to e-mail, folder or document server in one click, a practical feature in departmental environments. PFP and CRD users can preview and edit scan results with the Ratio controller, or scan to Design Web Format (DWF) for efficient distribution. Easy digital document exchange functions are supported by the device’s versatile network connectivity via a standard 10/100 BaseT network interface board (NIB) and USB 2.0, as well as several options like Wireless LAN (IEEE802.11b) or a Gigabit Interface for the Ratio controller.

In line with other Ricoh products, the Aficio MP W7140 is straightforward to use with its intuitive wide color LCD panel and simplified screen function. The screen also displays animated instructions should a paper jam occur. Thumbnail views and previews prevent mistakes and increase efficiency.
