HP today announced that California-based Project Ink has selected the HP Designjet L25500 Printer to expand its range of applications and add more printing capabilities in-house that lower the impact of printing on the environment.

The newest addition to the HP Latex Printing Technologies portfolio, the HP Designjet L25500 Printer offers unrivaled versatility,(1) ease of use and water-based HP Latex Inks, which produce durable, odorless(2) prints and contain no hazardous air pollutants (HAPs).(3) Since installing the new printer in September 2009, Project Ink has already completed projects for environmentally conscious, high-visibility clients including JADE Aveda SalonSpas and Volcom, a maker of apparel for skate, snow and surf enthusiasts.

Winning new business with a complete solution for environmentally conscious clients
The HP Designjet L25500 Printer was a natural fit for a project requested by Jade SalonSpas, an Aveda salon that was looking for odorless and recyclable fabric prints for the high-fashion interior of its shops. Project Ink used the new printer and HP Wrinkle-free Flag with Liner to print directly to the flag fabric, an application that would have been outsourced in the past. The HP Designjet was also used to produce posters and wallpaper for the salon.
 
Project Ink also participates in the HP Planet Partners Recycling Program,(4) including the HP Large-format Media Take Back Program, to easily return and recycle prints produced with HP Latex Inks on HP recyclable media as well as HP Latex Ink cartridges and printheads. Through this program, Project Ink and its customers can recycle used materials for free, saving a trip to the landfill and the associated costs of disposal. Notably, Project Ink has increased demand from Volcom and other clients who seek an end-to-end solution that reduces the impact of printing on the environment for applications such as tradeshow graphics and backlit and window displays.
