Panasonic Debuts Double-Feed & Staple-Resistant Scanners
Panasonic Communications Company of North America (PCCNA) today introduced two new high-performance color scanners featuring proprietary triple-sensor technology designed to detect and prevent such common and potentially document-damaging issues as double-feeding and embedded staples.
"Reducing paper-feed problems and document damage caused by stapled originals has been one of Panasonic's top priorities from Day One and we've come closer to totally eliminating those issues with every product generation," said Panasonic Product Manager for Scanners Bob Curci. "In introducing the new KV-S4085 and KV-S4065 models -- which feature three discreet sensor systems -- we've taken our biggest step in that direction yet."
The three detection modules include:
An optical sensor array which detects staples in virtually any location -- corners, sides, top-center and bottom-center -- and interrupts the scanning process before document damage can occur.
Three ultrasonic sensors which detect potential double feeds regardless of document position on the scanning bed.
A mechanical slip-detection sensor which automatically adjusts the height of the auto document-feeding hopper to continuously maintain the optimum paper-feed roller pressure for flawless performance regardless of document thickness or size.
