Kodak Versamark 700 Print Manager Enhances Productivity for Fenske Media
Fenske Media Corporation has installed the first Kodak Versamark 700 Print Manager in the United States. Targeted to commercial printers and designed to integrate easily into existing workflows, the Versamark 700 Print Manager serves as a robust front end for the Kodak Versamark VL2000 Digital Printing System. In addition, future versions will support the entire line of VL-Series Printing Systems as well as Kodak’s upcoming Stream Press.
The Kodak Versamark 700 Print Manager accepts a wide variety of commercial data inputs such as PDF, PostScript, PPML/GA, PPML/VDX and VPS. The Kodak Versamark 700 Print Manager handles data from a variety of sources and streamlines production by reducing the need for additional processing.
With a reputation as a pioneer in one-to-one consumer communications, Fenske Media was one of the first commercial printers to offer print products that go straight from computer to mail. The company already uses a number of Kodak Solutions and was one of the first in the market to deliver innovative marketing solutions using digital printing.
“We are always pushing our equipment to the limits, and the new 700 Print Manager will help us get the most productivity from our digital printing devices,” noted Tom Fenske, Controller, Fenske Media Corporation. “It’s critical in a demanding production environment to have a powerful, open solution that helps manage and crank out the work. Speed, quality, flexibility—we need tools that provide it all.”
Features of the Versamark 700 Print Manager include the ability to create and edit job tickets, manage color, build impositions, manage resources, view, and edit job data. These tools help identify and correct incoming jobs to help ensure that they will run properly. Making these corrections at the production site eliminates the need to return the job to its original offsite designer.
