GMG, supplier of high-end color management and proofing solutions, has expanded its product portfolio with the launch today of PrintControl Pro and RapidCheck software tools for effective and sustainable process control. Both products were developed by the software company Tucanna, while GMG has the worldwide distribution rights.

Print Control Pro is software that takes the user step by step through the process that is necessary to establish optimal and repeatable printing conditions. This puts advanced functionality in the hands of the average user, who can achieve high-quality results without days of tests and print runs, and without the expense of requiring a specialist on site. These defined steps illustrate the complete printing process and give a detailed numerical and graphical analysis to support the printer’s work. The graphical representation shows key parameters which simplifies process control on the press and in plate making. The end result is a standardized printing process with predictable printing results.

The key parameters include CTP curve calculation, colorimetric specification for optimum printing density,, dot gain, gray balance and gamut. PrintControl Pro analyzes this information and produces a detailed report which enables problems to be identified quickly and easily, resulting in the rapid elimination of errors. The software contains all the parameters of ISO 12647-2 and ISO 12647-3 along with the facility for users to create their own in-house standards, which is particularly useful when dealing with conditions not covered by international standards, such as FM screens, or Flexography, for example.

The documentation details every step in the production and the analysis is presented with clearly structured diagrams. The intuitive nature of the software means that reliable analysis of the results can be obtained in a very short space of time.

PrintControl Pro supported measuring instruments - EyeOne, DensiEye, SpectroEye, DTP 500 series and iCPlate (platereader) from Xrite, as well as the SpectroDens from Techkon.
