Fineline Achieves Internationally-Recognized SFI and FSC Certifications
Fineline Printing Group has recently been certified with the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC). Fineline now offers its customers ways to show their commitment to the environment by using SFI-certified or FSC-certified papers and displaying the SFI and FSC labels on these products.
The SFI was formed to promote responsible forest management by preventing deforestation and protecting wildlife habitats and those species at risk if the forests are not properly managed. In rder to maintain this certification, Fineline goes through strict audits that require a chain-of-custody to be recorded for every job that is printed using SFI -certified paper. For more information, go to: sfiprogram.org.
The FSC is a non-profit organization formed to promote responsible forest management and prevent deforestation by serving as a certification system that acts as a credible link between consumers and responsible production. In order to retain this certification, Fineline will participate in an annual audit ensuring each printed piece was pre-approved and ensuring a proper chain-of-custody process is being followed. “Our customers increasingly want to show their commitment to a sustainable environment. Fineline works with established organizations and industry councils to offer our customers a variety of ways to do green-friendly printing and mailing,” says Richard Miller, Owner and President of Fineline.
In addition to their SFI and FSC accreditations, Fineline has other recognized green initiatives; it was the first printer in Indiana to be a certified partner with the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP). SGP is an organization that encourages its partners to be sustainable wherever possible and set an annual conservation goal, such as reducing the amount of energy consumed.
