DirectMail.com Adds HP Indigo to Meet Growing Demand for Variable Digital Printing

DirectMail.com, a leading direct mail and data services provider, has acquired Hewlett Packard’s HP Indigo technology for creating dynamic, high-quality customer messaging. With HP’s leading digital printing technology, DirectMail.com can produce messaging that is completely dynamic and data driven, with the quality of traditional offset printing.

A Realtor, for example, could print and mail postcards to prospects showing dynamic pictures of homes that are currently for sale in the recipients’ neighborhood. Or a local store could customize a mail piece with product images that match a particular customer’s buying preference.

“Today’s successful marketers know that ‘relevance’ is everything when it comes to direct mail,” noted DirectMail.com partner Kirk Swain. “The closer you can get to a one-to-one dialogue, the more likely you are to make that sale, get that member, or collect that donation.

“With the extensive consumer and business data we have on hand for targeting mailing lists, plus the digital print capabilities of the Indigo, we can do some pretty amazing things,” said Swain.

In addition to using the technology to provide high quality output for its existing print business, Swain said DirectMail.com also plans to launch a state of the art web-to-print system on its website, “making online, lights-out ordering of direct mail campaigns a reality for every large and small business.”
