German engineering now enables Supply Source to offer a simple reset device that restores the chips on refilled Canon cartridges to again function as new.

Until now Canon Inc. has been able to control the market for replacement cartridges for their printers using CLI-8 series and PGI-5 inkjet cartridges through the use of complex electronic chips. Although the cartridges could be refilled, the ink monitor on the printer would continue reporting “empty” and the user would have to instruct their computer to ignore the “empty” message. Without the ability to monitor the ink level a printer could continue running on empty resulting in the printhead being destroyed.

German engineering now enables Supply Source to offer a simple reset device that restores the chips on refilled Canon cartridges to again function as new. The device does not require attachment to a Canon printer and cartridges are reset in five seconds.
