OBITUARY

RAY ROPER, former president of the Printing Industries of America (PIA) died of a heart attack on June 15, 2004. He headed the PIA from 1987 through 2002. He is survived by his wife Judy, three sons, and four grandchildren. A memorial scholarship fund for underpriviledged children has been established in his name. DON LOWE, CEO of Franchise Services which is the parent company of the Sir Speedy and PIP Printing franchises, has been inducted into the Sales and Marketing Executives International Academy of Achievement Hall of Fame. Lowe was Quick Printing’s Man of the Year in 1989 and he is a founding member of the Quick Printing Council.
